Ingredients

  • 2 cups oats
  • 2 cups water or milk
  • 1 chopped apple (or 1/2 cup applesauce)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  • In a bowl, combine all ingredients and stir until well mixed.
  • Pour mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Bake 25–30 minutes, or until set and lightly golden on top.
  • Serve warm, or cool and slice for grab-and-go breakfasts.

Notes

Swap it: Any fruit or jam works — try peaches, pears, or raisins. Be cautious with raisins if you have pets; they are toxic to cats and dogs. For extra richness, drizzle with milk or a bit of butter before serving.
